Gravity Ann formed in Feburary of 2003. We all met at space camp, while we were training to be astronauts. "I recall the day I met Lee Carlson (Guitar, Bass, Backing Vocals)" says Chris Roser (Lead Vocals, Guitar) "He was doing flips in the zero gravity chamber and playing some mean air guitar." I thought "If he plays half as good as his Rock God poses look, we’ve got ourselves a guitarist." Turns out that Lee better than that and he was excited to try to be the first guitar player in outer space. We then answered an ad on the NASA bulletin board and hooked up with Markus Byerley (Guitar, Bass, and Vocals) formerly of the band "Pictures of Uranus." A short time later we got kicked out of camp for throwing a memorable party and trashing the shuttle simulator. We came back home to rock the Northern Illinois area. In December of 2003, Paul Mercado (Drums) joined Gravity Ann to provide the beat. Since he was recently asked to leave the space program for grilling fajitas in the air lock of the space station, we felt he would fit right in.
